Fresh from discussions with the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme member countries about financing options for addressing plastic pollution, Kolekt Founder, Thierry Sanders, met with the Kolekt app development team in India last week to discuss future developments that will both improve user experience, but also further develop the architecture for a suite of EPR systems.
“Insights from users has always been fundamental to Kolekt’s development agenda. Added to our experience of helping the Government of Mozambique establish a new EPR system, the discussions we recently had with the South Asian countries has given us a clear picture of the development needs linked to EPR, and a plan for some new features.”
“Additionally, we’re in discussions with several other Governments about incorporating Kolekt into their EPR policy development, and into the systems used to manage EPR. KOLEKT will help these Governments to generate the revenues needed to meet the waste challenge head on.” Thierry Sanders.
One of the main areas of focus for our team in India is making the suite easier for consumer goods companies to use and receive EPR fee compensations as a reward for waste recovery efforts by the companies themselves. Additionally we will be revamping the Kolekt app which is used for traceability in many countries. This app will see new features such as inventory management for recyclers and aggregators and better payment systems to do cash transfers directly to waste pickers, even those with no mobile phone at all.
Kolekt is a BVRio Group company.
