{"id":4548,"date":"2021-12-08T14:35:05","date_gmt":"2021-12-08T14:35:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.circularactionhub.org\/?p=4548"},"modified":"2021-12-22T15:45:43","modified_gmt":"2021-12-22T15:45:43","slug":"circular-credits-jordan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.circularactionhub.org\/circular-credits-jordan\/","title":{"rendered":"Circular Credits: A financial solution for Jordan\u2019s waste recovery actors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">BVRio\u2019s Circular Economy team provided expert insight on opportunities to promote the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.circularactionhub.org\/ccm-principles-and-criteria\"><span class=\"s1\"> Circular Credits Mechanism (CCM)<\/span><\/a> for private sector engagement in Jordan, for an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acted.org\/en\/projects\/circular-economy-national-study-in-jordan\/\"><span class=\"s1\">expansive assessment conducted and published by ACTED<\/span><\/a> (1).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In the document, ACTED refers to the CCM as a viable solution to the financial challenges of Jordanian waste recovery actors engaged within the assessment \u2013 recycling facilities, sorting centres, waste pickers \u2013, advising them to register their projects on the Circular Action Hub\u2019s (CAH) Marketplace to seek investors\u2019 support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The study suggests that the CCM can help the growth of the sector in Jordan by eventually generating further employment opportunities for the skilled and unskilled labour force, as well as giving the informal actors&#8217; opportunities for partnerships with formal entities, as this is one of the eligibility criteria to sell Circular Credits through the CAH.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Apart from contributing as Key Informants to the assessment, BVRio\u2019s Circular Economy team edited the document\u2019s section on Circular Credits and attended the validation workshop to review critical data trends and give further feedback on strategic opportunities and gaps within circular economy approaches in Jordan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">Watch our video <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=x05pgwmaUgs\"><span class=\"s1\">Plastic Credits \u2013 How it works?<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">1 ACTED (2021), <i>Circular Economy National Study in Jordan.
